The Waterfall. One of the many waterfalls in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. This park, which is part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, protects an unusually diverse range of vegetation communities. There are isolated animal populations and rare and ancient plants tucked away in its deep gorges, and home of the living fossil, the Wollemi pine. With less about 80 adult trees known to exist in the wild the Wollemi pine is one of the world’s oldest and rarest plants dating back to the dinosaur.
