For nearly two decades THE SHORT COLLECTION has been making and distributing an exclusive range of competitively priced blank cards handmade in Australia. In the early 1990’s Maureen Short was disappointed at the lack of Australian images available on greeting cards. She was motivated to put together a selection of her images for a range of photo greeting cards that are produced by her and 100% made in Australia. The photo images used on the greeting cards are based on techniques used by photographic masters over many decades. i.e. “what you see is what you get”. They are true images, not manipulated or photo shopped.The greeting cards feature a limited selection of spectacular ever-changing photo images taken by Maureen Short of the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge/ New Year’s Fireworks, Australian flowers, Australian birds, Australian animals, Australian landscapes and famous landmarks.
As a photographer, Maureen Short has an enviable flair for “catching the moment”. Over the past 30 years Maureen has:
• Won many awards at National Photographic Exhibitions around Australia
• At art shows Maureen has won the Black & White and the Colour Print sections.
• Entered, exhibited and sold at leading Art Shows across Australia
• Her work has been published throughout Australia in numerous publications.
As a charity coordinator, Maureen has met and photographer many Australian and International celebrities, artists, sports people and pop stars. Her portfolio includes photos of Neil Diamond, Sam Neil, the late Sir Edmund Hillary and the late Professor Fred Hollows, just to name a few.
